The village of Bathampton boasts a couple of good restaurants plus the local historic pub, The George. The George is situated on the Kennett and Avon canal where you can sit and enjoy the boats going by. The centre of Bath is about 25 minutes walk away. Here you will find many places to visit. The Roman Baths and Pump Room are well worth a visit as well as many Georgian features which include Great Pulteney Street, The Circus, Pulteney Bridge, and of course the famous Royal Crescent.
If you wish to use Bath as your base to visit slightly further a field there are many West Country attractions to which half/day trip can be made. These include places like Cheddar Caves, Stonehenge/Avebury, Wells, Glastonbury, and many more. The Cotswold Villages of Lacock and Castle Combe are also well worth a visit.
